FDNY Ladder 9 House
Fire Department of New York, Ladder 9, 209 Elizabeth Street, Manhattan. Ladder 9 was orginized in October 20, 1865 just up the street at 195 Elizabeth Street (the address changed to 209 in 1882). They moved to their current house at 42 Great Jones Street in 1948. They now share quarters with Engine 33.
I posted this picture on March 30, 2011 and through the comment section discovered the history of the bakery from Mr. La Rosa's grandson and a past employee. I latter received a comment that this was Ladder 9's old station.

Louisville Slugger Field is the home of the Louisville Bats a AAA team for the Cincinnati Reds. The field sits up the street from the Louisville Slugger factory. This is also Pee Wee Reese. Pee Wee played shortstop for the Brooklyn Dodgers from 1940 until retiring from the Los Angeles Dodgers after the 1958 season. Growing up in Louisville Pee Wee played baseball in his senior year of high school and eventually went on to play for the minor league Louisville Colonels before his call up. Reese would serve in the US Navy for 3 years during World War II. In 1984 he was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame and had his number retired by the LA Dodgers. At his funeral in 1999 Joe Black, a black MLB pioneer, said, "Number 1 on his uniform, number 1 in our hearts"

Snow Day
As I sat in my tree stand watching the final hours of deer season fade away I was blessed with the sight of a steady falling snow. I'm sure if there really were deer anywhere near where I was they were hunkered down waiting out the storm (or waiting out the hunters).

The Gates of Graceland
The gates of Graceland have been tagged. And tagged. And tagged. Apparently it it is OK to vandalized an American legends home in Tennessee. If it wasn't moving it was graffitied. The portrait was stenciled on the crosswalk from Elvis, Inc. across Elvis Presley Boulevard to Graceland. The caricature and the love note were on light poles.
