Around the Corner
Spring may be just around the corner, but until then... it's still winter. I don't think that I need to remind you of that.

People Will Definitely Come
"The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game, it's part of our past, Ray. It reminds us of all that once was good and it could be again. Oh, people will come, Ray, people will definitely come."

Video City
Does anyone still remember renting videos? Wandering the aisles looking at the empty boxes, taking it up to the counter. Leaving a check with them in case you didn't bring it back? Paying your fines because you didn't"Be Kind and Rewind". Usually pick up a soda and a bag of microwave popcorn.
Video City sits at the intersection of Mechanic Street and Market Street in downtown Cumberland, Maryland.

Raise the Roof
Another from the forgotten farmhouse. I like the contrasts of colors and textures. The straight lines and those that ain't. The stones and the brick. The earth tones and the sky. It all works.

Not Playing Nice
I guess one Downy Woodpecker and one Carolina Wren is all that is allowed at the suet block at a time. When a second Downy shows up it just throws off everything.

Chambersburg Downtown
The fountain on the Square in Chambersburg all lit up for Ice Fest back at the end of January. I have a lot more pictures from Ice Fest but too much else is going on. And I forgot that this is the week I usually do old scans. Maybe next week I fire up the scanner.

What was Happening at the Other Feeders
Not all the action was at the suet feeders. There was plenty going on at the seed feeders. Especially after the squirrel left. I still have Goldfinches coming into the thistle feeder. And visitors at the seed feeder included Cardinals, House Finches and White-Throated Sparrows. There was also the Mourning Doves cleaning up under the seed feeder and snoozing in the dead sumacs on the hill.

More from the Feeders
Another day and I'm posting more birds from my new suet feeder. I found it back at Christmas time at a local nursery. Problem is that's the only place I can get the suet plugs, though. No big deal, I still load the old reliable suet cake cage. Today I have a Tufted Titmouse, a Dark-eyed Junco and a male Downy Woodpecker.

Busy Day at the Feeders
I know it's probably the snow and ice covered ground but my feeders have been inudated with birds lately. So, Sunday afternoon I cleaned the back window, sat and took pictures. I think I had at least 7 different birds in and out. They have managed to deplete my supplies, I'll need to make a run for supplies this week.
