Manhattan Bridge

This is the Manhattan side of the Manhattan Bridge along Canal Street in Chinatown. This bridge crosses the East River. The bridge opened in 1909 and this elaborate Arch and Colonnade was added in 1915. Total Length: 6855 feet. The Manhattan is the center of the tree bridges to and from Brooklyn and lower Manhattan. The Brooklyn Bridge is downstream and the Williamsburg Bridge is upstream.
