LaVale Volunteer Fire Department, Station 2






LaVale Volunteer Fire Department, Station 2, 1047 National Highway, LaVale, Md. Allegany County Station 2. LVFD was establihed in 1933. Their original station was built in 1938, this station was built in 1965. Station 1 sits about a mile and a half northeast of here. It was built in 1997. This staion is named in memory of Waverly F. Rice, the only Line of Diuty Death in LaVale's history. Firefighter Rice died December 25, 1964 from injuries he recieved at an apartment fire December 16th.
