Allentown Fire Department, old Franklin No. 10







Allentown Fire Department, old Franklin No. 10, 1348 Turner Street, Allentown, Pa. Lehigh County. The Allentown Fire Department was formed in 1870 from the four volunteer companies serving the city. Franklin Fire Company formed February 22, 1901 and opened the doors on their new station on September 13, 1902. In 1985 Keystone No. 15  and Franklin No. 10 moved into the West End Station at 2145 Turner Street. Engine 15 has since been taken out of service. In 1987 the Franklin's House was sold by the city for apartments. The Franklin's live on as the Franklin Home Association now located next door.
