Allentown Fire Department, old Columbia No. 4




Allentown Fire Department, old Columbia No. 4, 22 North 10th Street, Allentown, Pa. Lehigh County. Allentown Fire Department was formed February 9. 1870 from the 4 volunteer fire companies serving the city. Columbia was originally at 714 Hamilton Street until 1885 when it moved to this station on 10th Street. It remained here until December 16, 1958 when the city moved it to the new Central Station on Chew Street with Engine 9 out of the Pioneer Station. Central Station is one of the busiest in the city.
