Painter Volunteer Fire Company







Painter Volunteer Fire Company, Crosby Street, Painter, Virginia. Accomack County Station 12. Organized in 1949 and incorporated July 12, 1950. The original firehouse was an old broom shop located where the post office now is. This building was moved to where the present station now sits at 17116 Wayside Drive. It was demolished in 1976 and a new three bay metal station was built. A bingo hall was added in 1989. A new station was constructed recently behind the old. Painter VFC covers the communities of Painter, Keller, Boston, Craddockville, Puncoteague, Harborton and Hack's Neck.
