Fairmount Engine Company, 401 West Main Street, Norristown, Pa. Montgomery County Station 27 D. The Fairmount's were established on February 22, 1852. In 1864 a station was built of Lafayette Street. A lot of land on Main Street was bought on November 12, 1874 and a new firehouse was dedicated May 1, 1880. This firehouse is still in use today.
