South Mountain Volunteer Fire and Ambulance Department, 11207 Loop Road, Fayetteville, Pa. Franklin County Company 16. Created and chartered August 20, 1956. Their first station, a 28' x 40' building, was built in 1957. In 1966 ground was broken on Loop Road for a new station at their current location. An addition was built in 1977 with the brick front added in 1978. SMVFD response area includes parts of Guilford and Quincy Townships in Franklin County and Hamiltonban Township, Adams County.
