West Lake Fire Department, Station 2, 2942 West 12th Street, Erie, Pa. Erie County Station 49. Founded June 17, 1937, the original main station was in Delaney's Service Station at West 12th and Powell Avenue. The main station then moved to it's current location at 3762 West Lake Road. WLFD operates a water rescue team, specializing in open water, swift water and ice rescues, running an average of 130 calls per year, including 12-20 water rescues. Station 2 was built in 1955 and houses a ladder truck and a secondary water rescue boat.
