Morningside Volunteer Fire Department, 6200 Suitland Road, Morningside, Maryland. Prince George's County Company 27. Formed and chartered March 7, 1945 from a WWII Civil Defense organization. Original firehouse was built in 1945. This station was replaced in 1956 by the current firehouse. MVFD is a 100% volunteer station responding with a engine, a rescue/engine, a rescue Squad and 2 ambulances.
