Solomons Volunteer Rescue Squad and Fire Department






Solomons Volunteer Rescue Squad and Fire Department, Station 1, 13150 H.G. Trueman Road, Solomons, Maryland. Calvert County Station 3. Beginning in October 1954 as Calvert County Volunteer Rescue Squad, they began housing equipment in a shed at the end of the island. The Fire Division was added on September 18, 1963. Water Rescue started in 1974. The current building opened February 22, 1980 and was added to in 1990. A substation was built on Cove Point Road in 1991. SVRSFD operate 2 engine, an engine/tanker, a truck, a rescue squad and 3 ambulances. Responding to about 1500 fire and 2300 EMS calls each year.
