New Castle Fire Department, old Central Station




New Castle Fire Department, old Central Station, 229 South Jefferson Street, New Castle, Pa., Lawrence County Station 2400. New Castle's first fire company on record dates back to 1863. In 1872 the volunteer stations in the city reorganized as the New Castle Fire Department. Old Central Station was opened in August 1928. replacing the old station, built in 1881, on East Street. This firehouse closed in the summer of 1997 when the new station was opened on Margaret Street.
