Fairfield Community Fire Company, old station

Fairfield Community Fire and EMS, old 1948 station, Steelman Street. Fairfield, Pa., Adams County Company 2. In 1922 the town ordered a hand-drawn chemical tank and began to look into ladders, buckets and the formation of a volunteer fire company.  They were incorporated in 1946. In 1924 they were making alterations to a property the had purchased, then in 1948 they opened a new station four blocks from the old one, shown here. The current station was dedicated in May 1991 and sits next to the 1948 firehouse.
