The Keeper's House

The original Keeper's house for the Concord Point Lighthouse, in Havre de Grace, Maryland, was a single story house built along with the Lighthouse in 1827. (The light is across the street) John O'Neill was the first Lighthouse Keeper. He served for $350 a year until his death in 1838. In 1884 the roof was raised to a two-story level and the attached kitchen was improved.

Farm in Winter

The last time I posted this farm I was looking for some good Fall pictures. Well last Saturday I was looking for some good winter pictures. How'd I do?

Better Days

Saturday afternoon I had an opportunity to take a quick drive looking for some snowy goodness. Yeah, I've shot this barn before, but one more time won't hurt.

Four randow trees. All in a row. Not in a tree museum. No dollar and a half charge just to see them.

The Forgotten Farmhouse

More pictures of the old farmhouse. It's hard to believe that this was once a home. Full of rooms, full of life. From the outside it looks big. The limestone construction speaks to the fact the farmer was well off. But to see the hollow shell it's just hard to imagine the stairs to the second floor. The fireplace crackling and warming the house.
I'm sure that deisel will be the end of this. Mother nature would be much slower.

Forgotten

Saturday's walkabout lead me to this old farm house. Long forgotten. All the wood is gone. The roof, most of the lathe on the walls, the addition out back, the barn. Everything. The old stone walls are a testament to craftsmanship. They'll be there forever.

Nashville Boots

Some of the many boot shops in downtown Nashville. There was a bunch. So many you would think that the supply would make the prices reasonable. Wrong. So wrong. We came home and spend half of that.

Sun Mike

Sun Studio in Memphis, the place where Elvis got his start. The Sun legend was further fueled by the likes of Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins and Roy Orbison. What songs do who sing to this microphone? Did the King of Rock n Roll grip it while doing the hip thing? Did Johnny sing about Folsom Prison with it? Some things the world may never know.

Spellcheck, Please.

Gas pump in Limon, Colorado. Is that Ho-made or Homemade? At least it's nice to know they keep their Ho's busy during the day making pastries.

Thrift shop in downtown Chamersburg, Pa. Buy -N- Seel. I think they need a little more blackout, I mean whiteout.

Diner, Cleversburg, Pa. I'm really surprised they didn't spell it with an "SH".
