I had a little color show up at the thistle feeder this past weekend. These are American Goldfinches. I think they are both male and the one on the right is either immature or just hasn't gotten his summer plumage.

Yellow Flowers
This is not, I repeat not my yard. My yard did get a lot of attention this weekend but it didn't start out looking like this. Well, I was asked for more flowers pictures and here's a picture of a bunch of flowers. You're welcome.

Year 8, Day 1
That's right another year is in the books. Seven years down and an eighth on the way. Last year was fun, saw some new things and did some old things again. There was a lot of bird pictures, the backyard feeders were hopping. Made another trip to see the eagles at Conowingo Dam and a first trip to see the snow geese and tundra swans at Middle Creek. The big trip took us to Nashville and Memphis. The Opry, Ryman and Graceland. Lots of live music and the Johnny Cash USPS stamp unveiling concert. Baseball in Louisville, Kentucky and the New York Mets Citi Field for the first time. Oriole Park again and the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders at the Harrisburg Senators game. Chambersburg Ice Fest and NYC's Lunar New Year parade. More firehouses, more flowers, an forgotten farmhouse and a lighthouse. More to come this year and it's big, really big. Numbers? Last year there was 295 posts for a total all time of 2329. There was 27,497 page views on my blog, total all time of 105,500 page views. That means that 26 percent of all my page views came in my seventh year in the blog-o-sphere. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!

Odd Ducks
Odd ducks and a turtle. These two ducks were making themselves at home on Dykeman's Spring a week or so ago. I stopped because I thought they were Canvasbacks. But I think they may be Mallards, cross breeds or leucistic (part albino). I'm still not sure.
And there is my first Painted Turtle of the spring.

Grain Bins in the Snow
Dug this one out from early March. It was still cold and snowy then. I thought that the black and white would help make it look cold and snowy.

Sunset over Chincoteague Bay
It has been a year and a half since I've been to Chincoteague Island. That is one of the longest stretches without being there since I started going back there in 1999. I'm due. We're due.

A Day at the Park
Sunday it was 80 degrees. Monday it was a breezy 75 degrees. Wednesday we had tickets to the Baltimore Orioles afternoon game. Temp at first pitch? 39 degrees. That's Thirty Nine Degrees with 10 mph winds. Gloves, Hood and Coat. But it's better than being at work. And our guys won.
