Woodsboro Volunteer Fire Company

Woodsboro Volunteer Fire Company, 2 South Third Street, Woodsboro, Maryland. Frederick County Company 16. Formed in 1953, WVFC protect to town of Woodsboro and it's surrounding communities. Woodsboro is staffed by Frederick County Fire-Rescue personnel as well as volunteers. Interesting story; on September 11, 2001 a call came to the WVFC station asking for them to respond to the Pentagon following the terrorist attacks. They responded with their 1955 Mack 65' ladder truck. It was specifically needed to enter a ten foot high entrance to the inner courtyard, any other ladder truck would have been too tall.
