Potomac Heights Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad

Potomac Heights Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad, 73 Glymont Road, Indian Head, Maryland, Charles County Station 7. Organized in September 1950, they also built their first station in their first year of operations. EMS started in 1954. The current station was dedicated May 4, 1975 and was renovated in the 1990's. A kitchen fire in June of 2025, just 4 months before these pictures caused damage to the kitchen area and cabinets. Apparatus includes three engines, a squad, tanker, brush truck, confined space unit , boat, utility and command vehicles. 

Indian Head Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad

Indian Head Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad, 4095 Indian Head Highway, Indian Head, Maryland, Charles County Company 9. Formed in 1948, the main station building was built in 1963. Apparatus includes a ladder, two engines, a brush truck and special unit.

Hyattstown Volunteer Fire Department

Hyattstown Volunteer Fire Department, 25801 Frederick Road, Clarksburg, Maryland, Montgomery County Station 9. Established May 21, 1929. HVFD began in temporary quarters and the current station was opened in early spring 1942. Apparatus includes a rescue engine, tanker, brush, utility, UTV and command units.

Mardela Springs Volunteer Fire Company, Inc.

Mardela Springs Volunteer Fire Company, Inc., 101 Station Street, Mardela Springs, Maryland, Wicomico County Station 9. Established in 1927. A variety of cornerstones mark Mardela Community Hall (the two-story brick building on the right) 1935, Mardela Fire House 1955, M.L.A. 1965 and Mardela Springs Vol. Fire Co. Erected 1994. The 1994 construction included demolition of everything left of the original 1935 structure and building the brick addition and the 3 bay steel building. And finally adding 2 more bays sometime between 2013 and 2020. Apparatus includes an engine/tanker, rescue engine, tanker, brush, EMS, command unit and two ambulances. 

Midland Volunteer Fire Department

Midland Volunteer Fire Department, No. 1, 14823 20001 Union Street, Midland, Maryland, Allegany County Company 18. Midland Fireman's Tavern, 14823 Broadway Street,  Midland, Maryland. Formed in 1900, the current station was built in 1981 across the street from their former firehouse, which has since been razed. The Tavern has been operating since 1940. MVFD1 respond with 2 engines, a tanker, heavy rescue, brush truck and a UTV.

Good-Will Fire Company No. 1, 6 Douglas Avenue, Lonaconing, Maryland, Allegany County Station 20. Originally organized in April 1882. This station was built in 1964.

Tri-Towns Ambulance and Rescue Service, 59 Main Street, Westernport, Maryland, Allegany County EMS Station 50. Established in 1974, Tri-Towns EMS coverage includes parts of Allegany and Garrett Counties, Maryland and Mineral County, West Virginia.

Potomac Fire Company, No. 2, 61 Main Street, Westernport, Maryland, Allegany County Station 22. Established in 1912, PFC provides protection to Westernport, McCoole and Luke, Maryland. Equipment includes an engine, an engine-tanker, heavy rescue and brush truck.
