Taneytown Volunteer Fire Company












Taneytown Volunteer Fire Company, 39 East Baltimore Street, Taneytown, Maryland. Carroll County Station 5. In 1835 the Town Council passed an ordinance that established the rules for the formation of fire companies. The TVFC was organized October 18, 1897. The original firehouse site was purchased in early 1902 and a dedication was held the following year. A new station was built just a half block up the street in 1972. It was added to in 1994. The old station at 17 East Baltimore Street is currently the Town Hall and Police Station.

First Hose Company of Boonsboro










First Hose Company of Boonsboro, Inc., 5 St. Paul Street, Boonsboro, Maryland. Washington County Station 6. Organized in 1832, the department runs out of two stations, with a substation in Rohrersville, built in 1998. This house, the Downtown Station was built in the 1940's. The original municipal building, just up the street at No. 11, was opened in 1912.

They cover Tamaqua and Coaldale boroughs as well as Rush, Walker and Schuylkill Townships and parts of West Penn Township. This building was dedicated May 30, 1992.

Blue Ridge Fire and Rescue, 13063 Monterey Lane, Blue Ridge Summit, Pa. Franklin County Company 4. Established as the Blue Ridge Mountain Fire Company, No. 1 on August 28, 1906. First station was a one-room building behind the bank. After acquiring ground on Monterey Lane they dedicated their new station on February 16, 1947. Additions to the building in 1962 and 1981. A name change came in January 1953 to Blue Ridge Mountain Volunteer Fire Company, No. 1.
