14 Years? What?
I almost missed it, but yesterday was April 28th. That would mean that this boring little blog thing started 14 years ago. That's right, 4/28/2007 was the beginning of the Outskirts of Suburbia. Broken Bow Fire Department
Broken Bow Fire Department and Broken Bow Ambulance Service, 1848 South G Street, Broken Bow, Custer County, Nebraska. Before moving from their old station on South 11th Avenue, apparatus was scatter among several buildings downtown. The ribbon was cut for this new station on September 27, 2018.
Newcastle Volunteer Fire Department
Newcastle Volunteer Fire Department, 19 Fairgrounds Road, Newcastle, Weston County, Wyoming. The original fire service organized in September 1889 with the Newcastle Fire Department, consisting of the Mondell Hose Company and the Newcastle Hook & Ladder Company. The present reorganized Newcastle Volunteer Fire Company was formed May 1, 1933. The current station was built in 1979 and also houses Weston County equipment.

Green County Fire and Rescue, 207 East Hodgenville Avenue, Greensburg, Kentucky. Formerly the Greensburg Fire Department (changing sometime in the 1990'S).
Erie Fire Department, old Station 1
Erie Fire Department, old Station 1, 414 French Street, Erie, Pa. EFD was formed in 1871 and currently run out of 7 stations. Old Station 1 was built in 1908 and decommissioned in 1979. In 1984 it opened as Pufferbelly Restaurant. In 2015 Erie Insurance purchased the property and rehabilitated it and reopened it as an event center in 2018.

Union Fire Company, No. 1, Nottingham Station, 527 East Christine Road, Nottingham, Pa., substation of the Union Fire Company,, No. 1 in Oxford, Pa., Chester County Station 21. The Union Fire Company was first organized February 6, 1871 and opened this substation in West Nottingham Township on December 15, 2008. Dedication was September 26, 2009. The station houses an engine and utility.
