Squirt is a citrusy grapefruit flavored soda developed in Phoenix, Arizona back in 1938. The kid's name is Lil' Squirt. Squirt is currently a part of the Dr. Pepper Snapple Group. I found this gem along Route 994 on the outskirts of Three Springs, Pa. (Interesting facts, looked this up on Google Earth and this barn is 120' long. And there was no sign there in 2008. Hmmm)

Let's go watch the Pickle Drop! OK, I've seen the Times Square crystal ball drop on TV since I was a kid. A long long time ago. For years now Shippensburg has dropped an Anchor on the square. (Shippensburg = Ship, get it?). Last New Years eve we traveled to Chincoteague Island, Virginia to watch the Horseshoe drop. (Misty and the Chincoteague ponies) And there happens to be a beach nearby. This year was something different. We trekked to Dillsburg, Pa in northern York County to witness the famous Pickle Drop. (Dillsburg = Dill Pickle, get it) Well it's now dropped for the 24th time, so it's nothing new. And beside, raise your hand if you've ever seen a 6 foot pickle drop to the loud countdown from the crowd. I have. Happy New Year.
