Palm Springs Fire Department, Station 1, 277 North Indian Canyon Drive, Palm Springs, California. Riverside County purchased the first hose cart for the Palm Springs area on April 28, 1921 and stored it in a shed near Andreas Road and Palm Canyon Drive. On March 13, 1931 Palm Springs Fire Protection District was formed and in 1936 the first station was opened on Palm Canyon Drive. Palm Springs, the city, was incorporated on April 18, 1938 and the Department became a city operated Fire Department. Station 1 was built in 1957 and opened in 1958. In 2023 PSFD ran 12,264 calls out of their 5 stations.
