Hooper, Colorado 81136, population 103. Located in the San Juan Valley of Alamosa County, the post office was known as Garrison from 1891-1896 and until 1913 was located in Costilla County. Hooper was incorporated in 1898. You can almost see the Great Sand Dunes National Park from here.

Cow Town

Abilene, Kansas began as a stage stop in 1857, by 1867 the Kansas Pacific Railway pushed its way through and the Chisholm Trail ended here making this the wild west's first "Cow Town". I don't think that Wild Bill Hickock (once the town marshall) or Dwight D. Eisenhower (once the President of the United States) would recognize it anymore.
