Behold, the Capital dome in Harrisburg, PA. And atop the dome stands Lady Commonwealth herself. Famous for her appearance on the obverse of the state quarter back in 1999. (note: I can't find anywhere the name of this statue, I thought it was Lady Commonwealth) I've always wondered why PA was the second state to sign the Declaration of Independence. Just how did Delaware beat Pennsylvania to Philly?This building was built in 1906, replacing the old capital building that was destroyed by fire in 1897. The building has it's own website, can you believe it?
