Constructed in 1854, commissioned in 1855, decommissioned in 1933, recommissioned as a national symbol in 1940, decommissioned and stricken from Naval Vessel Register in 1955, berthed at Inner Harbor, Baltimore and designated a National Historic Landmark in 1963, condemned as unsafe in 1994, towed to dry dock in 1996, restored by 1999, photographed for this blog 2012.
