Ketchikan Fire Department, old station

Ketchikan Fire Department, old station, 319 Main Street, Ketchikan, Alaska.  Ketchikan Gateway County. Ketchikan Fire Department was started soon after 1900 when Ketchikan was incorporated and they appointed an Fire Warden. Apparatus arrived in 1903 and soon afterwards came the first station on Main Street. That firehouse was replaced in 1943 by another station on Main Street (the one shown here). In 2012 they opened their new station on Bawden Street. Ketchikan is a combination career and volunteer department.
