I sat down at the window to watch the Northern Flicker (in the yellow) feed at the suet feeder on Sunday morning and got a little surprise. Apparently woodpeckers aren't like all the little tweety birds at the seed feeder who get along. Suet blocks are only meant for one woodpecker at a time. When the Red-bellied Woodpecker (in the red) showed up, it was showtime. This lasted all of 30-45 seconds. When it was over the Flicker got the block to himself. Two hours later I saw the Red-belly back feeding alone.
