Pioneer Hook and Ladder Company

Pioneer Hook and Ladder  Company, Hagerstown Fire Department, 21 West Franklin Street, Hagerstown, Maryland. Washington County. Home of Hagerstown Truck 1. The Pioneer Hook and Ladder Company was incorporated in 1872. Their first home was on the Market House property on North Potomac Street near Franklin Street. From 1893 until 1914 the shared space with the Juniors on North Potomac Street. In 1914 the moved in with Antietam Fire Company on Summit Avenue. That same year that station burned and the Pioneers constructed their first permanent station, the current station. Built in 1915 as a single bay firehouse it was rehabbed to two bays in 1934.
