Upper Allen Fire Department, 104 Gettysburg Pike, Mechanicsburg, Pa. Cumberland County Company 23. Founded in 1942 as the Grantham Volunteer Fire Company, they were located along Grantham Road near Low Street. A name change came in March of 1950 to Upper Allen Township Fire Company of Grantham. In the 1960's a second station was opened on the Gettysburg Pike. A fire in 1983 destroyed the Gettysburg Pike station. The station was rebuilt, the Grantham Road station was closed and a new name came in June 1985, Upper Allen Fire Department. Partial demolition began in September 2018 for major renovations to the firehouse. Re-Dedication ceremonies were scheduled for March 28, 2020. (Postponed)
