After our last visit to Yellowstone, we knew we had to return. Yellowstone is set up like a figure 8. Two years ago we did the bottom loop of the 8. We entered from Cody to the east. Out and back to West Yellowstone, Montana to the west and exited to the south. This trip we entered from the north from Gardiner, Montana and through Mammoth Village. We concentrated on the upper loop, Mammoth Hot Springs, Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone and of course, Lamar Valley. The entire time there we dealt with the smoky haze from all the wildfires to the west. You can really see it in some of the pictures.
