Lincoln Fire Company No. 1, 38 South Market Street, Ephrata, Pa. Lancaster County Station 16. Volunteer fire service started in New Ephrata with their first meeting on July 28, 1869 as Washington Fire Engine and Hose Company, aka New Ephrata Fire Company and chartered in 1906. Their first station was on Apple Street followed by a firehouse on Lincoln Heights Avenue with additions in 1963 (kitchen) and 1978 (two bays). A new station, the current one, was built next door and dedicated June 20, 1998. In July of 2010 Ephrata Area Rescue Squad merged with LFC1.
