New Leipzig Rural Fire Protection District, 34 1st Street, East, New Leipzig, Grant County, North Dakota. The exact year year they were first organized is lost to the internet, but in 1911 there were chemical engines in town and in 1934 a meeting was held to reorganize the New Leipzig Volunteer Fire Department. The old firehouse/City Hall sits across the street, it was built in 1953. On December 9, 1954 the New Leipzig Rural Fire Protection District was formed. The current firehouse was dedicated July 2, 1976. The department is hoping to construct a new station in the near future.
