It's a Sunshine Day

I think I'll go for a walk outside now,
The summer sun's callin' my name,
(I hear you now)
I just can't stay inside all day,
I gotta get out, get me some of those rays.
Everybody's smiling', sunshine day,
Everybody's laughin', sunshine day,
Everybody seems so happy today
It's a sunshine day.

Just when I though that the sunflowers were finishing up for the summer, this field pops upon the old interwebs. There has got to be 50 acres plus here. And there all, like, waist high.

Pegasus Landing

We did get to witness a little excitement at Big Meadows in Shenandoah National Park. While travelling south on Skyline Drive we saw a half dozen official cars and SUV's and an ambulance at one trailhead parking lot. Later when we drove to the Big Meadows parking lot the ranger told us to start walking there was a helicopter going to land soon. Pegasus is out of the University of Virginia at Charlottesville.

Northern Harrier

I think this Northern Harrier is the only bird pictures I got last weekend in Shenandoah National Park. I first saw it flying low over the Big Meadow Saturday evening. They do this to scare up small critters. I found him again the next morning being harassed by/harassing some crows.

Breaking Dawn

I love that time of day just before the sun breaks the ridgeline. The creatures of the night are still stirring as the darkness starts to fade. Soon the new day will begin. (Big Meadow,  Skyline Drive, Shenandoah National Park, Virginia)
