High and Dry

So, OK then, why is there a old paddle boat sitting out in the middle of Pennsylvania? No river nearby. No lake. No stream, even. There is a place called the Riverboat Saloon there. Their website says that the boat was there before they bought the bar, that's why they named it the Riverboat Saloon. It looks like it may have had some water around it at one time. Roadside America's website even features it but still there is no reason that it is there. But it is.
I guess I should tell you where this is, huh? Shartlesville, Pa. Just off of Interstate 78 at exit 23.

I got this additional info emailed to me...I can remember seeing the guy getting the boat delivered on the news. He was so happy to have the biggest boat in Berks County. Since then nothing has happened. That boat has been sitting there for probably close to 10 years. The guy, Scott Powell, bought it with the dreams of opening a restaurant in it. I think he bought it before he found out what he needed to do to have a restaurant in it and to boot, on a floating boat, and then his dream evaporated. It’s been deteriorating at that site since it was placed there. It never floated at that site. My grandparents live 8 miles from there in Hamburg, PA.
Also this from the local newspaper...The Reading Eagle reported on Feb. 2 that the "Suwanee Belle,"
a 60-ton ship, was brought from New Jersey to Shartlesville.
Here, it will be restored and converted to a restaurant--and
placed on a mini-lake for effect. Scott Powell, owner of the
Towne Cryer Cafe in Shartlesville, is the owner.
