Indian River County Volunteer Ambulance Squad






Indian River County Volunteer Ambulance Squad, 3401 Indian River Drive East, Vero Beach, Florida. Established in 1966, they ran their first official call on May 1, 1966. Originally housed on 17th Street, just north of the high school and next to the old jail. In April of 1984 the Sebastian Volunteer ambulance Squad merged with  IRCVAS.  BLS/ALS service continued through 1989 when the county began providing ALS services. Since then the IRCVAS has provided non-emergency transports to the community. The current station was designated the Harvey H. McCollister Station on September 17, 1980.
