October 1st - Dawn to Dusk

October 1st, the pivot on which the trip hinged. An early morning hike, a 300 foot elevation change in 600 yards at 5000' above sea level, had my 700' lungs screaming. With limited suitable public land with access, I was not the only guy up there. Along with several pronghorn I also saw a northern harrier and had a close pass by a coyote. And to see the sunrise from a hilltop in Wyoming, surrounded by sage and shortgrass, then watch the sun set behind the Bighorn Mountains was amazing.
