New Year's Eve in Manhattan. What a wonderful idea. Leadville, Colorado. Elevation 10,152. (No, I'm not back in Colorado. This was from late September)

Well we drove up to the city,
On an autumn Saturday night
Ah and damn that girl looked pretty,
In the artificial moonlight
And I swore she looked right at me,
Like we were meant to be
But what's a girl like that gonna want to have to do
With a country boy like me?
'Cause I left my heart in Tulsa,
On the corner of Easton and Main
On the Cain's Ballroom floor,
Soaking up cheap champaign
And I'm going back to see her,
Just as soon as I can
'Cause I left my heart is Tulsa,
On the corner of Easton and Main.

Why do I go to Conowingo Dam every year? The numbers. I don't know of anywhere else I would get the opportunity to see the numbers of Bald Eagles as I would/do get at the Dam. This picture was taken at about 10 am just as the fog was starting to lift. You gotta remember that there are eagles in the trees behind me. And sitting on the dam walls. And on the power towers on the island. The rest of those big birds sitting on the rocks are Black Vultures.

Merry Christmas from all the staff here at the home offices of the Outskirts of Suburbia. I've been a little out of the Christmas thing here for the last couple of weeks, so this morning I took some pictures of the ornaments I got while I was stationed in Germany. 30 years ago. I hope everyone has an awesome holiday season and thank you very much to all my regular viewers. Both of you.

Some birds make you work for the prize. This dude here was a pain. I chased him for a half hour. He finally stopped for some pine nuts and I had him. I had caught up with him between the Scotsman's Picnic Area and the Siamese Twins in the Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs.

There is more than a couple rock outcrops in Colorado known as Chimney Rock. This is the second best known and is in Montezuma County, 18 miles south southwest of Cortez and 18 miles east northeast of 4 Corners. I know about this stone building on the back side of the Rock but a sign similar to the one pictured dissuaded me from driving around. A local saw me turn around and flagged me down. After 45 minutes of talking and him telling me it was fine to drive around I was able to check this destination off the road trip to do list.

Denali National Park, Alaska. This was right where the bus dropped you off to stretch.
Niagara Falls, Ontario. Don't jump over the railing.
This was at the Casino (notice the club and heart).
Black Canyon of the Gunnison, Colorado.
This one is obvious, but the temptation was there.
