Mont Alto Ambulance Squad

Mont Alto Ambulance Squad, 6037 South Main Street, Mont Alto, Pennsylvania, Franklin County Company 5. February 5, 1931 a meeting was held to either reestablish the old Pearl Fire Department or start a new department. The Mont Alto Fire Department was then chartered in July 1931. Apparatus and equipment was first stored in a garage at 3 South Main Street. A new block station was opened in September 1939. Later, another new firehouse, their current station, was built and dedicated in the fall of 1977 with an addition for the ambulance built in the 1980's. October 1, 1978 they began ambulance service, and on April 18, 1999 EMS dedicated their own building just down Main Street. MAAS run about 1,200 calls a year with 2 ambulances and a transport van.

Union Fire and Hose Company No. 1 - Dover Fire Company

Union Fire and Hose Company No. 1, 30 East Canal Street, Dover, Pennsylvania, York County Station 6. The first fire protection in Dover was the 1844 purchase of a used 1782 hand pumper. A charter was granted November 11, 1907 for Union Fire and Hose Company No. 1 of Dover. A new larger station was dedicated August 31, 1912 on West Canal Street and the current station was opened in late 1952 on East Canal Street. Dover Ambulance Club was formed in 1959. Union FHC1 respond with two engine, a tanker, brush and traffic unit.

Tri-Towns Ambulance and Rescue Service

 

Tri-Towns Ambulance and Rescue Service, 59 Main Street, Westernport, Maryland, Allegany County EMS Station 50. Established in 1974, Tri-Towns EMS coverage includes parts of Allegany and Garrett Counties, Maryland and Mineral County, West Virginia. 

Warrington Community Ambulance Corps

Warrington Community Ambulance Corps, 1140 Easton Road, Warrington, Pa. Bucks County Medic 129. Organized in 1971, fully trained and responding on February 1, 1972. WCAC is made up of paid and volunteer EMT's and paramedics proving ALS and BLS care. Starting out in a garage on Stagner Avenue in 1971, then moved behind the Community Center on Easton Road before building a new, and current, station on Easton Road in 1991.

Lower Valley Ambulance Service

Lower Valley Ambulance Service, 1201 Freeport Road, Cheswick, Pa. Allegheny County EMS Station 150. In operation since 1973, they provide service to Cheswick borough, Harmar and Springdale Townships as well as Springdale and Verona boroughs. The respond to about 4200 calls per year.

Bedford Area Ambulance Service

Bedford Area Ambulance Service, 130 West Vondersmith Avenue. Bedford County EMS Station 11. Established in 1971. The paid/volunteer service opened a substation at the Imler Area Volunteer Fire Department. The building was dedicated in 2001.

Clear Spring Ambulance Club

Clear Spring Ambulance Club, 233 Cumberland Street, Clear Spring, Maryland. Washington County Station 49. In 1954 the Clear Spring Fire Company formed a committee to begin ambulance service. This service began on June 15, 1954. In 1976 they moved, along with the fire company, to the new fire station on Mulberry Street. In 1993 they split from the fire company (I believe) and at some point moved to this station on Cumberland Street on the east side of town.

John Carroll Area Ambulance

John Carroll Area Ambulance, 239 North Main Street, Carolltowm, Pa. Cambria County EMS Station 64. Started January 1, 1968 and incorporated in 1978, JCAA cover Carrolltown borough, as well as East and West Carroll Townships. Originally house in the borough garage (the old fire station), they opened this new facility in May 2000.

Fayetteville Volunteer Fire Department

 

Fayetteville Volunteer Fire Department and Fayetteville EMS, 101 West Main Street, Fayetteville, Pa. Established in 1953 and incorporated March 29, 1954. Originally equipment was housed in a local garage until 1958 when they moved into a refurbished service garage. A new station was dedicated in October 1975. The station underwent a remodel in 2010. EMS began in 1975 and new EMS bays were added in 2016/2017. The department operates 2 engines, a heavy rescue, brush, UTV and EMS units. 

On July 2, 1977, after arriving on the scene of a working cabin fire, Fire Chief James W. Cutchall and a neighbor were killed and several other responders were injured. On September 21, 2015 a portion of Main Street in Fayetteville was renamed the James W. Cutchall Memorial Highway.

New Bloomfield Volunteer Fire Company

 

New Bloomfield Volunteer Fire Company and New Bloomfield EMS, 23 West High Street, New Bloomfield, Pa. Perry County Station 8. The VFC was established 1932, EMS started in 1954 and ALS began in 2010. NBVFC broke ground on July 30, 2020 for a new station being built along South Carlisle Street. (Note: the pictures in the rear of the station were taken in June 2020. The front of station pictures, as well as the new under construction pictures were taken in November 2021.)

Solomons Volunteer Rescue Squad and Fire Department

Solomons Volunteer Rescue Squad and Fire Department, Station 1, 13150 H.G. Trueman Road, Solomons, Maryland. Calvert County Station 3. Beginning in October 1954 as Calvert County Volunteer Rescue Squad, they began housing equipment in a shed at the end of the island. The Fire Division was added on September 18, 1963. Water Rescue started in 1974. The current building opened February 22, 1980 and was added to in 1990. A substation was built on Cove Point Road in 1991. SVRSFD operate 2 engine, an engine/tanker, a truck, a rescue squad and 3 ambulances. Responding to about 1500 fire and 2300 EMS calls each year.

Waynesboro First Aid Crew

Waynesboro First Aid Crew, 201 West Broad Street, Waynesboro, Virginia. Augusta County Rescue Company 1. Organized December 17, 1950 and established in 1951. First housed at the Waynesboro Fire Department, the Crew broke ground for their own station in the spring of 1965 and expanded in 1972. They are a combination career/volunteer organization covering the city of Waynesboro and the eastern portion of Augusta County. ALS was added in 1990.
