Indian Head Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad, 4095 Indian Head Highway, Indian Head, Maryland, Charles County Company 9. Formed in 1948, the main station building was built in 1963. Apparatus includes a ladder, two engines, a brush truck and special unit.
West Pennsboro Volunteer Fire Company, 20 Park Road, Plainfield, Pennsylvania, Cumberland County Company 46. Started as a community center in 1961, in November of 1962 they borrowed a pumper and parked it in a private garage. In 1963 the original building was built and in April of 1967 the charter was amended to the West Pennsboro Volunteer Fire Company. Building additions followed in 1975 and again in the 1980's. WPVFC respond with an engine, tanker and mini pumper.

Stainless steel memorial by the ART Design Group includes an I-beam from the World Trade Center. "A reminder of the courage and selflessness that defines our nations first responders."
