Dewey Fire Company No. 1

Dewey Fire Company No. 1, 502 Durham Street, Hellertown, Pennsylvania, Northampton County Station 13. Established January 18, 1898 when they wrote their constitution and bylaws and then elected the first officers of Hellertown Hook and Ladder. Before they were chartered they changed the name to Dewey Fire Company No. 1 after U.S. Navy Admiral Dewey's victory in Manilla in May of 1898. In 1900 their first firehouse was built. It included the police station and town jail. The current station was dedicated in July 1955, with an addition in October 1979.

Chelmsford Fire Department, Station 1

 

Chelmsford Fire Department, Station 1, 50 Billerica Road, Chelmsford, Massachusetts, Middlesex County. Fire protection in Chelmsford dates back to measures taken in March 1900 to purchase fire protection equipment for the town. Chelmsford is now protected by 5 stations, Station 1, aka Center Station, aka Fire Headquarters, houses  and engine, ladder truck, rescue, command unit, brush truck, utility, gator and boat. Construction began on the Billerica Road station  July 1, 2013 and was dedicated December 13, 2014 replacing the old station 1 on North Road. The new station is dedicated to Chief Ernest G. Byam, who died in the line of duty January 31, 1965. Chief Byam died as the result of an auto accident while en route to a kitchen fire.

Monaca Fire Department, Station 4

Monaca Fire Department No. 4, 913 Taylor Avenue, Monaca, Pennsylvania, Beaver County Station 57. Station 57 was established in 1925. On November 2, 2024 a groundbreaking was held for a new firehouse, still under construction, at 1200 Pacific Avenue. The new station will hold all three Monaca fire companies, including MVFD1, Station 56 (currently at 928 Pennsylvania Avenue) and MFD5, Station 58 (currently at 800 Jackson Avenue). photos are from October 2024.
