It's Raining, It's Pouring...

My hope for this morning was a trip to the State Game Lands to see if the turkeys were out. When I woke up and heard the wind and saw the rain I figured that all that was out of the question. And then I went anyways. Not much wildlife, a couple hawks, some crows and a few other birds. And rain. Bottom picture is the Mountain Road bridge over the Conodoguinet Creek. The first picture is the creek running along Bridgewater Road. Second picture is the west side of Mountain Road near Parkhill Road. And the third picture is where I had to back up and turn around on Parkhill Road. It's still raining.

A few more picture from the Live Burn Training at the Franklin County Public Safety Center last Sunday. Most are teams are waiting to enter or simply standing by. The fires burning inside are fueled by the wooden skids and straw you see laying around outside the burn building.

The streets of New York City provide you with hundreds of opportunities for you and your camera every block. The Cup & Saucer Luncheonette sits in Chinatown on the corner of Eldridge Street and Canal Street. Kind of reminds you of that restaurant from Seinfeld.

Million Dollar Mail Pouch (PG 139)

Traveling around upper Dauphin County back in January, I was heading south on Route 147 when this view came into sight. A Mail Pouch barn. It's been a while since I've seen a different Mail Pouch ad. Sitting just east of Route 147 this barn is right along Million Dollar Road. I don't know when they built this road but I think with inflation they may have to mark up the name.

Moonset Over the University Lodge

The old burned out University Lodge will soon see it's sun go down for good. I took this last fall during some fire department training at the site.

Live Burn

Live Burn. The end of Interior Firefighting Class. Yesterday I drove to Chambersburg to get some pictures at the Franklin County Public Safety Center. (This is the same place that held last summer's Junior Firefighters Academy) My brother and nephew were both in this class and our Tanker was there to help supply water. The class of approximately 23 students broke into six groups whose assigned jobs rotated from Attack 1 and 2 to RIT Team (Rapid Intervention). Everyone took their turn at each level. This day of training was the culmination of weeks of classroom learning to certify these men and women for fighting fire safely and efficiently.
