Crazy Horse Memorial
Crazy Horse, South Dakota
September 2018
The Crazy Horse Memorial began in 1948 and showed little progress until a push was made to finish the face in the 1990's. We assumed that, like Mount Rushmore, we would see it, take some pictures, visit the museum and exit through the gift shop. Two and a half hours later we made our way back to the truck. Wandering around the Indian Museum of North America and the North American Culture Center looking at the art from the past and present, the bead work, the dances and the crafters, I still am not sure we saw everything.
