World's Only Corn Palace

The Corn Palace idea started in 1892, this one was built in 1921. It is decorated with corn and other grains annually. At the time of our visit they were in the process of applying the newest design. The unfinished areas you see looked like a giant paint-by-numbers page. Even the columns in the lobby look like corn.
