Fireman Training, Sir

June 10, 1978. Shippensburg, Pa.
Before powerpoint, before instructors with no common sense and before there was simulated fires in simulated structures there was fire training. Take an old building and set it on fire. Put it out and set it on fire again. When the structure was compromised or the 'put it out' part wasn't working anymore, it just became a big bonfire.
Looking at these pictures I see leather and tin helmets, I see the early days of bunker pants and I see 3/4 (day) boots, wooden ladders, our old 1963 Seagrave pumper and junior members that are now chiefs.
