Indian River County Department of Emergency Services, Station 3, Vero Beach Airport Station, 2900 43rd Avenue, Vero Beach, Florida. Firefighting in Vero Beach was organized in 1921 and the Vero Beach Volunteer Fire Department was formed December 17, 1923. In 1980 they formed the South Indian River County Fire District and by a referendum vote in 1991 they became the Indian River County Department of Emergency Services (now IRCES). Station 3 houses an engine, a rescue, a crash truck, a chemical unit and a brush.
