Union Bridge Fire Department, 8 West Locust Street, Union Bridge, Maryland. Carroll County District 8. Formed March 10, 1887 and incorporated 1889. Equipment was originally parked at the town hall. In 1889 they renovated the old hardware store into their first station. In 1925 they purchased the old town hall and added a bell tower. And in 1967 they built the current firehouse on West Locust Street, adding the social hall in 1985. Ambulance service began in 1947.
