I took this picture of the University of Virginia's Pegasus medical helicopter landing near the Big Meadow of Shenandoah National Park back in late August. While getting info for the blog post I saw they had a calendar contest, so I submitted. Winner, winner, I got the cover photo, and a T-Shirt.

Cortez Fire Protection District, Station 2

Cortez Fire Protection District, Station 2, 6892 Colorado Route 24, Cortez, Colorado. Montezuma County. Established in the spring of 1911 they are a combination career/part time/volunteer department. CFPD has three stations Station 1 is downtown and Station 3 is north of town. Station 2 was established in 1996.

A fixer upper near Mosca, Colorado. That would be the Great Sand Dunes back there at the foot of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains.

SNP Whitetail

The whitetail deer in Shenandoah National Park are so acclimated to humans that sometimes I think the just get annoyed with us more that frighten by us.
