Sheridan, Wyoming

Mid day on Wednesday we took a break from scouting and walked around  Sheridan. Cool little town that held just a bit of the old west still. We went into King's Saddlery. For the laid back exterior, the inside opened into a large showroom of tack, tools and souvenirs. Then slip out the back door and across the alley to their old west museum and custom leather shops. Before it was back to work though, a stop for a quick Bomber Mountain Amber Ale at Black Tooth Brewing.

Buffalo, Wyoming

Buffalo, Wyoming
October 2018

Buffalo, Wyoming was the center of our two week vacation. Although there were closer towns to where I planned to hunt, Buffalo was more central to where I wanted to visit. I'm glad we stayed here. I've been to other towns in the west that were more centered around hunting than tourism and Buffalo is a town like that. We ate at the Occidental Hotel and Saloon the evening of the first day of hunting and had the simplest best meal of our vacation.

The Beer Cave

One of the caves dug into the hillside in Pottsville, Pa. along Mahantongo Street. This is where those fermentation in the 20 barrel vats happened before refrigeration. This is all part of the tour at the oldest brewery in the country... D. G. Yuengling and son.

Haines Brewing

After our nature tour in Haines, Alaska we took a short walk from the ship through what was Fort William H. Seward to the Fireweed Restaurant. A couple slices of pizza and a Spruce Tip Ale. Yes, It is brewed with real spruce tips. And it did taste like it. Later we took the town bus for a few laps around the area. One of the stops was at the Haines Brewing Company located at the Southeast Alaska Fairgrounds in a building the was moved here after the filming of the movie White Fang. Neat setup they had. There was other small shops in some of the buildings. I'm sure that once it's fairtime the place gets hopping. Get it? Brewing? Hopping? Oh, well.

Wild Horses

Yuengling Brewery in Pottsville, Pa., one Saturday last September. We stopped by for a tour, but passed on that when the girls didn't comply with the "No Open Toe Shoes" rule. There was quite a crowd there to see just how America's Oldest Brewery makes it's magic.

Boh Knows Baltimore

This is located inside Oriole Park along the lower concourse near left field. National Bohemian Beer is a Baltimore staple since 1885. Natty Boh was the first beer to be sold in six pack cans in the late 1940's. In 1965 it became the official beer of the Baltimore Orioles. Finally it took almost 20 years to bring it back to Birdland.

ABC

Looking for something different to post today. Here is a picture I took of the Appalachian Brewing Company's building along Cameron Street in Harrisburg, Pa. We originally stopped here because they have a 6 foot high root beer six-pack carrier on the side roof. I like this place, the beer is good and the food is great.
