City of Fairfax Fire Department, Station 33




City of Fairfax Fire Department, Station 33, 10101 Fairfax Boulevard, Fairfax, Virginia. During Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department consolidation in 1978, Station 3 in Fairfax City withdrew from the County Fire and Rescue system and began their own City Fire and Rescue service. Station 33 was built in 1978 and would be razed and replaced by this new station. Grand Opening was October 16, 2021. Station 33 is equipped with a rescue engine (and a reserve rescue engine), ALS transport units and a swift water unit. Fairfax City firefighters belong to IAFF Local 2702 and in 2024 ran 9273 fire and 13751 EMS calls.

Mont Alto Ambulance Squad




Mont Alto Ambulance Squad, 6037 South Main Street, Mont Alto, Pennsylvania, Franklin County Company 5. February 5, 1931 a meeting was held to either reestablish the old Pearl Fire Department or start a new department. The Mont Alto Fire Department was then chartered in July 1931. Apparatus and equipment was first stored in a garage at 3 South Main Street. A new block station was opened in September 1939. Later, another new firehouse, their current station, was built and dedicated in the fall of 1977 with an addition for the ambulance built in the 1980's. October 1, 1978 they began ambulance service, and on April 18, 1999 EMS dedicated their own building just down Main Street. MAAS run about 1,200 calls a year with 2 ambulances and a transport van.

Mont Alto Volunteer Fire Company, No. 1







Mont Alto Volunteer Fire Company, No. 1, 517 South Main Street, Mont Alto, Pennsylvania, Franklin County Company 5. The Pearl Fire Department was established June 17, 1916 in Mont Alto. They elected officers, approved by-laws and then quickly faded away. On February 5, 1931 a meeting was held to either reestablish the Pearl FD or start a new department. The Mont Alto Fire Department was then chartered on July 1, 1931. Apparatus and equipment was first stored in a garage at 3 South Main Street. A new block station was built and opened in September 1939. Later another new firehouse, their current station, was built and dedicated in the fall of 1977 with an addition for the ambulance built in the 1980's. Another addition was completed in 2003. October 1, 1978 they began ambulance service, and in 1999 EMS moved into their own building just down Main Street. MAVFC run with 2 engines, a tanker, a brush truck and a utility.
