The More Things Change

This is  the ever changing Goldman Properties building on the corner of Houston Street and the Bowery in Manhattan, New York City. This exhibit has been evolving every couple/three or four months since 2008. I just happened to catch a few.

Liberty Cruise

Today's scans take us to New York City and a cruise out to Liberty Island and the Statue of Liberty, August 2000. It was an overcast and windy August day. At this time, during the summer, they only allowed the first tour of the day to climb up into the crown. We were limited to the interior museum area. That is the original torch now on display inside, it was replaced during renovations prior to the 100th anniversary in 1986.

Patriots Day, year 13

Has it been 13 years? Can you believe it? Half of the kids in school have been born since 2001. (kindergarten through 7th or 8th grade) Do you think they are teaching them about that day? Do you think they are explaining how to avoid this happening again? Well, today I'll be thinking about those lost that morning and those who continue to see that it doesn't happen again. Thank you for your service. Remember that the war on terror didn't start with the attacks on the World Trade Center. Our troops had been on that front line for a long time before that and will forever need to fight that fight.

Citi Field and a New Baseball Season

This is Cit Field, home of the New York Mets. I visited here last June. My first Mets game since Shea Stadium. Last year I also visited Louisville Slugger Stadium for the first time. We hit Commerce Bank Park in Harrisburg and Camden Yards again, too. I wonder where the baseball bug will take me this year. Oriole Park for sure. Where else? You'll have to wait and see.
